Am I eligible to get Adult Medicaid coverage?

To be eligible for Medicaid in Illinois, you MUST:

  • Be 19 years old or older
  • Be a U.S. citizen or on the path to citizenship*
  • Have a certain yearly household income
  • Have a physical mailing address in Illinois (cannot be a P.O. box)

*Note: In Illinois, if you’re 42 years old or older, you do NOT have to be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for Medicaid. Your only requirement is to have a certain yearly household income.

What can I get with Medicaid coverage?

With Medicaid coverage, you can get:

  • Birth control at no cost to you
  • Health care visits at no cost to you
  • Prescriptions at no cost to you

How do I know if I have Medicaid coverage right now?

  • Blue Cross Community Health
  • CountyCare
  • Humana MMAI
  • Meridian
  • Molina
