Welcome to the ICAN! Modern Contraception and Reproductive Justice Foundational Webinar!

In this course, Dr. Toni Bond, ICAN!’s Community Engagement Advisor, discusses how the Illinois Contraceptive Access Now initiative is informed by Reproductive Justice (RJ) theory, and provides practical approaches to integrating the RJ framework into patient-centered contraceptive care. Additionally, Dr. Caroline Hoke, Chief Clinical Officer of Erie Family Health Centers, reviews the full spectrum of contraceptive methods available today, their attributes, and strategies to help people find a method that meets their contraceptive needs and desires.

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

  1. Align the Reproductive Justice framework with TRUER contraceptive care delivery.
  2. Identify one screening question used to screen clients for contraceptive needs and desires.
  3. Educate on the range of contraceptive methods available in the US and understand how patient preference and values guide person-centered counseling and shared decision-making.

All assignments for Session 1 are due by February 28th, 2025.
